At Oakwood, a student group called the Green Gorillas will be taking on plastic pollution. Their goal is to ban bottled water and to create a culture of students that use reusable water bottles in their daily lives. To start, the Green Gorillas are conducting a student survey on the campus drinking fountains to make sure they are working properly and to highlight their location and use. Next, the group plans to sell their own branded stainless steal water bottles. The Green Gorillas also plan to take on other issues including switching to reusable cutlery instead of disposables in the school cafeteria.
